Remember that your kids are beginners. They are learning a new skill and all new skills take time to develop. Their finished projects may not have the quality of a store bought item or what a professional seamstress would do, but in most cases they will still be thrilled with what they have created and the accomplishment they have made. Please remember to be positive and give praise with their first attempts at sewing. Let them know that you are proud of them!
